The Full Form of TCS Company is Tata Consultancy Services that is one of the global leaders in the field of information technology, digital, and business solutions, and information technology (IT) Provider Company based in India. The company works with clients (organizations) to simplify and strengthen their firms.

TCS headquarter is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. There are 149 TCS offices in 45 countries worldwide as part of the Tata Group. After serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of TCS since 2013, Rajesh Gopinathan was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in February 2017, and still, in 2021 he is the CEO of TCS.

 

What is the History of TCS?

·  TCS was established in 1968 by the Tata Sons Company as a division, Tata Consultancy Services Limited first operated as Tata Computer Systems.

·   The Tata Research Development and Design Centre (TRDDC) in Pune was TCS's first dedicated software development center in India.

·    In 1981, it founded Indian's first client-dedicated offshore development center. 

·  The company is later (1993) become a partner of the Canadian software factory Integrity Software Corp., which it later acquired by TCS.

·   Under the leadership of Corporate Vice President and Transformation Head Subbu Iyer, TCS launched a Decision Support System (DSS) in the domestic market in the latter part of 1999.

·   On 25 August 2004, TCS became a publicly-traded company. After opening the door to the bioinformatics market, TCS became the first Indian IT services company to enter the sector.

·   In 2008, the company generated more than $500 million in revenue from e-business.  The Indian Department of Posts awarded a six-year contract to TCS in May 2013 valued at over *1100 crore.

·    In 2019, TCS was awarded the American Business Award from Four Stevies. With a market cap of $144.73 billion, TCS has surpassed Accenture as the world's most valuable IT Company on 8 October 2020.

·   It was TCS again, on 25 January 2021, who overtook Accenture briefly, in market capitalization, becoming the most valuable IT business in the world with $170 billion in market capitalization.
